As a person who completely committed to "the big chop" and never looked back I can understand transitions in a hair journey. I am picking up signals that someone thinks I went "natural" for a reason other than my own. Sometimes I get a little shaky in being able to keep up my "look". There are people who will want to have something to say,t hey often cannot see they serve a major purpose. To show me that people really do pay attention and that me committed to my complete transition, especially as a person who would never have purchased a hair relaxer or scheduled an appointment to perm their hair on their own. I am happy to not fit into their paradigms and be pointed at for what "they" consider noncompliance. I am ecstatic to showcase what I have learned in theory, in practice, experience, from listening and from reading. I am also realizing to put more focus on MY HEALTHY and leave little to no room for the backlash from gossip coupled with conversations that come from others. It is amazing to see how people think people are "copying" them and essentially have not clue that they are having their own life experience that may be in conjunction with participation in the same space or philosophical framework. Here are somethings that may be helpful for people on a natural hair journey who need support maintaining and keeping up with their personal look and standard!
