A Poem Titled The Laws of the Jungle

November 25, 2019

The Laws of the Jungle

The laws of the jungle

The natural way to know

I see the king

This is his queen

And we can’t trust a dude

That would ask “how do you know”

Without words

Without movement

Watch a king and queen cry

And watch a violent dude do it

Scripted fatality

Unable to comprehend the reality

No tears

No fight

Ni script

We right

A king and a queen

Who cried

A king who knows I would die

Because he too has some lack

When my education makes me say Hi

And he doesn’t read well at that level and would want to know why I did that

And here I am too, with a hesitation

A king and a queen

I can see the jungle

I know now when and who to humble

Can you see our hearts crying and dying

Because of what we can see

A kind gentle man

Who can kill you with his hands

A feminine and dainty woman who can read and success

Acknowledging the violence in our face

The oppressing fatality

Of tools from another race

Because we shared I love you

Without even have to look in each other’s face
