A Personal Reclamation; The Personal Is Political Might I Add
November 19, 2019
This is a reclamation on behalf of an identity that I have lived through and know all to well. One where I am tried heavily for the lack of understanding of others. One where I am communicated about because of shared space, groupings and individuals not distinguishing purposeful from available, attention seeking, nothing in the world else to do or needy. I would never understand how my smile, wave and kisses blown across a room are trapped in a state of “no one is here though”. I have seen people mistake what is sacred for ghetto and what is classy for trashy due to the actions or lack thereof, of others. Furthermore, I recommend eye contact be the key component of initiating a lifelong love and I suggest most people stop looking at each other.
