A Poem Titled "Slave Ship"

Slave Ships

I have been fought and harassed

By people already so abused

Even the government would be attacked if their stories hit the news

Have you ever read the stories of men pulled apart tied together by two horses?

I have been fought and harassed by bodies that have lived as corpses

I can tell who his here and who has chosen to die

By the stories that they tell and the way they ask why

I have been fought and harassed

Because I know how to give a NO

And I know how to learn along the way

Regardless of what story is told

I have been fought and harassed

By people who do not know what their behavior said

They have no understanding of boundaries

They sleep with people who would leave them for dead

They travel down an incestuous path

From exposure to the behaviors of those who survive cramped in ships

Some of those are not marriages

They are just people who were conjoined together by the hips
